Here at the Buccleuch, we are into another busy week, with June just around the corner. The glorious sunny weather of last weekend hasn’t lasted but we are all in high spirits just now after another very exciting award win and so we’re optimistic that the sunshine will join us again before long and give us, and our customers, a superb summer.
Last week marked the second month in a row that we have won an Award – this time Pub of the Year 2013, part of the very prestigious CIS (Catering in Scotland) Awards.
We travelled to Glasgow for a glamorous evening hoping, but not necessarily expecting, to win our category – we were up against stiff competition from Stravaigin in Glasgow, who are very well known for their quality, and the Waterside Bistro in Haddington which is also making an excellent name for itself, particularly with regard to their use of local produce.
However, as you can see from the photo, we were amazed and delighted to come home with the trophy.
It’s such a boost for us to be given such an accolade and we’re really chuffed. We couldn’t manage any of this without our great team of staff so we owe them a great deal and of course our superb local suppliers must also be acknowledged! We really believe that we won this award on the strength of the quality of the food that we source and the way in which it is cooked so we can’t take all the credit ourselves.
